Spent the day working on first figuring out what I was gonna do about it (build my own from scratch (which then delves into many paths of how) or buy and install something prefab (assuming I can find anything I think the wife'll put up with!)), then buying and starting to install a handrail for the front porch (It's only been a year and a half since we had the porch redone, and the building codes guy looked askance when he was in last month to inspect our new a/c installation ). Got to use my shiny new hammer drill for the first time - whee! Got the posts bolted to the bricks; tomorrow it's cut the rail-and-baluster combos to length and install them between the posts. Then off to Bartow for tomorrow's metric. W00t!

LOL.... I have been getting hounded to put a rail up the stairs on the front porch & the back porch. A drunk neighbor about 3 years ago actually tore the rail off of my front porch, yeah on purpose. Just the hand rail up the steps. And the back one is just old and coming loose & I need to fix it....

No ride today... went to Florida Hospital for an EKG then to the LBS to order the new front wheel to match the new back wheel that I got last Friday. This had better cure my broken spoke problem. Bought Mavic Open pros 36 spoke wheel with reinforced spoke holes. Front wheel will be a 32 spoke Open Pro wheel. Had them put on a 12,13,15,17,19,21,23,25 Shimano cassette in place of my old 14/28 freewheel and change my bar end shifters from friction to index shifting.

I lack scuba gear and a Iron man suit to deal with the rain and just how stupid GA drivers get on wet road.. Same reasons I wont be riding tomorrow.

We drove to Florida on Tuesday to see family in Lake City, Chiefland, Crystal River, and Orlando. Got home last night. Too much driving. So no riding until tomorrow.

I skipped riding this past Monday because it was pouring... when I went to leave from work, my car's battery was dead, cause I hadn't driven it all week.
I didn't ride yesterday, there was a group ride at 8:00 but I had some chores to do, van maintenance, working on some writing, etc.

No ride today. Spent the day taking care of business and getting ready to go to St Pete tomorrow to spend Thanksgiving with my son and daughter. Hope to ride tomorrow.

I hope each and everyone of you have a great Thanksgiving as we in this country have much to be thankful for.

Uggggggg I haven't rode for about a week..... But I did get my back porch rebuilt and re-screened & 2 new windows in the living room. Along with a new roof over the small front porch. Ok I mostly supervised & did the painting while friend was doing the real work... But on the upside during this time my back is almost better (hurt my back just before we started on the repairs...) I'm out of money, so no more fixing or building stuff..... So hopefully I can get back to some riding this week.... that's the plan anyway....

The deck sounds cool, my dad has been doing the same on the weekends the past month or so, there's just one mysterious leak that has eluded both of us over Thanksgiving. I didn't ride because I have a math midterm this week and needed as much study time as possible. I "have" to ride to school tomorrow though, so yay for that!

No ride today because it was cold and rainy. Or maybe it was rainy and cold. Same for tomorrow.

Ditto on the GA rain.
Did get in almost 20 yesterday on my new (to me) hotrod. Brifter started hanging in the cold. I'm going to end up taking it apart before its all said and done.

Good luck with the Open Pros. I just bought my second set last month to replace the ones that came on my Litespeed in 2001.

Had plans to ride toda but it had rained last night and the weatherman called for 30% today so I just took the day off. I need to get in a good ride tomorrow to hit 500 miles this month. Weather man calling for 30% rain again and colder we will see...

I really like the new wheels.

Why I didn't ride today? I live where the arrow is pointing. Why do you think I didn't ride?

I should have ridden yesterday but I opted to get my wifes bike out of storage and get it back to riding condition. I spent most of the day cleaning patching oiling and waxing her old Trek 800.

I would have ridden today but it is 11 am and only 51 degrees so no way will that happen.

You got some thin skin. I'd be trying to decide if I was wearing shorts to ride at 51f.

If it is 55F I am in shorts and a light jacket. LOL

It was 29f this morning and still dark when I went in and I knew it would be dark when I got home so I drove. Same deal tomorrow. Saturday doing a Toys for Tots event at the Varsity with my 4x4 club at 9:30am so probably not get a ride in either.

Next week I am already writing off. My office is moving on Friday 12/10 and I'll be packing a 20,000 sqft warehouse all week. Probably going in at 6am and leaving at 6pm all week.

I have a 60 degree rule. Below 60 I stay by the fire. It would take an act of congress to get me to ride at 50 degrees.

No ride today

Very unhappy today. Weather is gorgeous, as I get older I like riding in colder weather. But I have a cold and sore throat which is zapping my energy.

No ride yesterday, today or tomorrow. It's 35 degrees and breezy right now and the wind chill is 25 degrees. Brrrrrrrr!!
Looks like my next chance to ride will be Thursday or Friday.

help

Oh, boy do I need some help with motivation. After a week in the Caribbean I just can't get myself to commute in this cold. Looks like I'll be stuck with the low 20s F at my morning commute time the rest of the week. Oh, and another arctic blast is headed our way. Wah!
