You're in collier and don't know about flfixed?

I don't think there's any commercial bike messenger service in downtown Miami (I could be mistaken,) but there are plenty of people who look like bike messengers :).
As for the scene, I think you'll be pretty happy with it, there are several Critical Mass related rides per month, and many cycling clubs at all levels. The infrastructure isn't great for cycling and traffic can be pretty crazy, but I think things are improving. Stay safe and welcome to the chaos! |
Two meetup groups I participate in; Miami Critical Mass, and South Florida Bike Club.

Yes you can take your bike on the bus or metrorail.
Send an email here whenever you're ready to move. exexcourier@aol.com They only have a couple of bikers right now. Don't know about the pay. There are so many rides and clubs all year round that it makes this place a cyclist dream, Without mountains and with rude drivers. I work in miami beach and bikes are used here a lot as a means of transportation. Average age of residents here in south beach i think is about mid to high 20's. Also check out Key Biscayne on the weekend hundreds of riders in the Key. |
The problem with bike messengers in Miami is that the city is spread over thousands of square miles. Far too spread out for a bike messenger service to really work. Now, if the services were concentrated to say, Downtown, it could work. I can't imagine a bike messenger going from Aventura to Homestead and back for a single trip.
As for the ride scene, it doesn't get better. The area is flat as a pancake and there are plenty of groups to ride with if you so desire. |
