Most folks ride on AIA. I'm in Deerfield Beach and ride a lot on Powerline Road as it has a bike lane running up through Boca but it has a lot of traffic. I look forward to seeing what others post on this.

As long as there's a bike lane, I'm totally fine riding next to traffic. But looking at this, there's no bike lane on the A1A here:

Boca Raton has a bike lane on A1A; most other municipalities do not and if they do it comes and goes. The biggest problem is cities (Highland Beach) that have wide shoulders that most drivers think is a bike lane when it is NOT. I will not ride in this shoulder as many cars pull out into this area when leaving their driveways from the condos and single-family homes. Most people do not understand that legally we are NOT required to ride in this shoulder area and some will intentionally try to "push" you into doing this. With all that being said, I still think the best (safest) place to ride in this area is A1A; just ride with awareness.

I've been doing the A1A in Boca, Deerfield, Pompano, etc. since I got here a few weeks ago. Can't imagine there being anything better around here... but if there is I'd love to know about it!

Just got back and some amazing riding. It is all flat but you can ride for over an hour without stopping along the beach! The best riding is on Palm beach:

1. Start at the top on N. Ocean Blvd
2. Bear right onto N. County Rd
3. Right on S. Ocean Blvd
4. Continue to A1A

That'll keep you along the water the longest.

Anybody know some organized rides in the WPB/Royal Palm/Wellington/Lake Worth/Boynton area?

I just moved down from Baltimore (and happy to be back in FL) and would like to find some people to ride with. I work til 5:30 during the week but my weekends are wide open. Haven't been on the bike in a while so maybe looking for something around 17-18 mph.

I allways liked A1A. Just not in the afternoon after folks have had a couple after work.
There's a great bridge up near WPB crossing the intercoastal canal for "hill training".
I only got hit one time in 10 yrs but the scenery is great.
Take care
Dave.
