Bikes, Blues & Bayous , Greenwood MS

I'm going to be in Greenwood MS this weekend and wondering if there's a decent road bike route there. I found info on the Bike, Blues & Bayous ride in September. Wondering if its a good route or is it bad traffic or conditions to ride outside of the event.

Anyone have any advice? If its not good riding there I don't want to bother bringing the bike.

I have ridden the event the last two years. The roads are mostly rural, and I mean very rural. Traffic problems will mostly be in town. Watch for those tractors on the road, they sometimes sling some mud onto the pavement.
The downtown area is worth cruising through. Some good local cafes also.

Thanks. And now I will bring the bike. I got in touch with a local cyclist through the Greenwood CoC, and sounds like he will organize a small group ride while I am there. He recommended some routes outside of the Bikes, Blues and Bayous route that's more rolling hills and a bit more scenic, as well. Hope the weather holds up.

You should be fine with traffic. Just don't get t-boned by one of those delta mosquitoes.

I rode there about 3 years ago. I concure with what you have already been told.
