Topsail Beach/Island
 

What is the biking like there? I'll be going there in a couple days. After searching around the internet, I see conflicting info... some sources say there are bike paths covering nearly the whole length of the island. I can't find them on say, Google earth though.

I have a cyclocross bike, wife has a hybrid, and we have a tow trailer for the two year old. I'm comfortable doing street riding, wife/kid aren't, but even the streets look narrow. The trailer/family rides would have to be on bike paths.

Anyone have experience with the area?

If you find out I would like to know as well. My in-laws bought a beach house down there and was wondering it it would be worth it for us to haul our bikes down. Thanks!

It's been a long time since I've been there but I remember the bike paths as something suited for beach cruisers. They are good from getting from motels to the baech, stores, restaurants, etc., but not for serious riding. The roads are good with limited traffic and very scenic.
