Visiting Nashville/Chattanooga - Recommended routes?

Spending some time next week in Nashville and Chattanooga. Bringing my own road bike on the trip and want to sneak in a few rides during the week.

Any good recommendations for either the Nashville area (staying downtown/west end) or when I'm in Chattanooga? I'll have my car, so can start from somewhere other than my hotel--but would generally prefer to avoid driving if possible.

Used to city biking, so not concerned much about navigating the city streets to get myself to a good location.

Maybe a trip up Raccoon Mountain in Chatt if I'm in the mood for some suffering?

I'm not that familiar with Nashville myself, but my daughter lives there, and I've noticed lots of bike lanes during my visits. You shouldn't have any issues getting around. I know she can ride into town pretty easily from down in the Green Hills/ Lipscomb area.

if you are on West End, keep going west to Percy Warner park. The park has a beautiful and challenging 11.2 mile loop.

And if you keep going west from Percy Warner you hit the Natschez Trace Parkway.

Natchez Trace just west of town is very nice. No Tractor-Trailers allowed, very scenic, hilly and the bridge over SR96 has an awesome view.

Lots of options around Chattanooga. Riding from your hotel might depend on where you are staying...downtown, or further out. Might also check the Chatt Bike club calendar for some rides to join. You don't have to be a member to ride. .... https://www.chattbike.com/forum/calendar.php There is a forum too, but it's not very active. Raccoon or Lookout Mountain would certainly give you a little suffering.

Check out the 3 State 3 Mountain Challenge route. Park anywhere from downtown chattanooga, northshore, or the BiLo at the base of Suck Creek, and ride the metric option. Pretty good solo adventurous route, beautiful up through there and back through Sequachie valley and over Nickajack Lake.

GreenLife on Northshore would be a good starting/finish place food... Om nom nom!

Use marketstreet bridge and pass through northshore to get to Signal Mtn Blvd as detour from the interstate route 3State3Mtn uses.

I do that, tossing in the Lookout climb up by Ruby Falls and Rock City on Sundays when I'm up visiting the parents.
