Sumter, SC, Anyone here?
Daughter just moved to Sumter and guess what? A city of 40,000 plus and no bicycle shop. Anyone here live in Sumter?

Thanks for the reply. Are you near Sumter and do you ride with the groups that meet every Sat. morning? There seems to be a lot of cyclist in Sumter and just can't understand why no nice Bike shop or two.

Actually I live in Greenville, SC, a couple of hours NW. You,ll find a strong cycling community in Columbia. Florence did have acouple races per year. And there are some good roads in the Sumter area, just no shops, just not enough cyclists to support a shop.

I live on the west side of Columbia, really not too far from Sumter. Some of my long rides almost get me there before I turn around and head back. Pretty good amount of cyclists here, but the roads suck for cycling and the traffic is not too understanding. With that said, I still have no trouble commuting 10 miles every day to work!
Maybe we should open a bike shop in Sumter? Always wanted to own my own shop and much more fun than normal work!
