I finally rode the Four Freedoms Trail in Madison Florida

On 3-14-12 I finally made it to the Four Freedoms Trail in Madison Florida. This is a 12 mile trail. I only did the last 6 miles which ends at the Withlacoochee River and Georgia. This trail was very scenic and well beyond my expectations. Was it worth my long drive from Sarasota to ride? Absolutely. I also rode the Withlacoochee Bay Trail in Crystal River and the Suwannee River Greenway in Branford. So 3 adventures in one trip. Don't miss seeing more photos on my website. Thanks.

Wow! Great pictures. We love the Withlachochee Bay Trail. I think it's one of the most scenic. We've also done the Greenway in Branford. But when we were there, they had the park towards the end (where the springs are )closed due to flooding (few years back). I've never heard of the other one so I am making a note about it so that hopefully this summer, we can head up that way. How did you find the Four Freedoms trail? I'm going to google it and see what I can find. Sounds like we might could head up one weekend with our rv and find somewhere close to camp.
Have you done the TAllahassee/St Marks trail? We really like that one as well. Really enjoying your pictures. Keep them coming.

Thanks for the comment Jim. I published it. I haven't done Tallahassee yet Linda. Also I found the Four Freedoms Trail on Google. Search 'florida paved bicycle trails'. Thank you both for seeing my website. I really appreciate.

When do you plan to come to Okeechobee to ride the Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail? I'll be happy to host for a couple of rides around the lake if you come before it gets too darn hot.

The fall it is! You can normally find me around the board here somewhere. Drop a line when you and get away and we can spend a couple days riding the LOST. It is one of the great trails here in Florida for length and design, but has NO infrastructure support, no water available, no bathrooms, no shade, no protection from the wind, no businesses nearby (much of the time) so you have to be prepared to ride down here.

Looking forward to it.
