North Carolina - Murtle beach in August - Where do you ride?
Im training for a century and want to ride when I'm on vacation in Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. Where do people ride here? Are there paths or certain areas that are popular? etc.
Would like to at least get in a 50 mile ride. I will be averaging 155 miles a week prior.
Thanks in advance.

I'd sign up for strava, check out the top guys on the segment leader boards in myrtle beach. if they're putting in the miles, check out their rides. probably riding decent routes.

I am headed there in a week, and have been riding there annually for 1-2 weeks for the past 5 years. Please post if you find a nice route/ride. I stay further south than where you are going, but I find the entire area to be very hostile to bicycles - both the roads (many busy and without shoulders) and the drivers. The closest that I've come to a serious accident was in Myrtle Beach (though truthfully it was just one horrible driver turning into another one, getting broadsided, and almost hitting me, but I'd say the "bike karma" is poor).

I'll be in the N Myrtle / Cherry Grove area from 7/14-20 doing 50-70mi rides early in the morning (18-19mph avg). If anyone is interested. Most routes will be to the north into NC.

PP I will be gone when you arrive, but if you can post a few routes id be interested in seeing them. All I do are ~30 mile rides up and down Ocean Avenue after crossing the Intracoastal Waterway from where we stay every year. The rides are somewhat wife-limited (in that i don't want her to strangle our 2 young kids) but I could probably sneak in at least one long ride per visit.

Here is a 67mi route but can be modified. That should give you some ideas.
