150926 & 27: Where Are You Riding This Weekend

Guess since Genaro's still too busy at his new job, someone'll have to pick up his slack...

Where're y'all riding this weekend?

Forecasted high of 98 in Glendora. (No thanks.)
93 at Palomar's base. (Yech--still too hot.)
87 in Newport Beach.
86 along the North SD County coast tomorrow.

Guess we're riding down the coast to San Diego and either riding back, or taking the Amtrak if it's too hot by then. Either that or join the Revolution-Solana ride in the morning if they aren't going crazy in the hills & heat.

Just got back from riding SART from Imperial to NPB and back. Nice day. For me, the weekend actually begins today, sort of-- the boundaries between work and non-work can be blurry, as I often work at home-- but now I need to work. Enjoy. Earlier in the week the forecast for today was not good, but it turned out to be quite good.

It was hot. I stayed on the coast most of the time except a little climb up Mt. Soledad.

Two wheels good. Four wheels bad.

Dang Genaro anyway. I just don't think he cares anymore.

I basically rode to my son's soccer game and back. 20 boring city miles. My shot at redemption (riding to my daughter's water polo game on Sunday) got shot all to hell when my wife came down with the sniffles.

Life happens.

I'm going to brave the heat and ride GMR/GRR on Sat. but hopefully start early, i.e. as cool as possible. Sunday, not sure.

Rode from Red Box to Grassy Hollow last Sat. plus added two Mt. Wilson climbs on the end to get to 101 miles, so that was fun and the temps were very nice at that altitude.
