Double Peak trails in San Marcos

Using Google Maps to scout a ride from Oceanside Metro station to Double Peak, I noticed a Cyclist standing near a trail head. This trail looks paved and the rider is using a Road bike (not x-cross bike). I've never been there. Are those trails mostly paved?

When I asked GM for directions they included some of those trails to cross the valley from Lakehouse Resort. Does this look doable?

I will take the train from City of Orange, so I can't waste too much time. To do this in one day I will bike ride about 80 miles and the other 130 on the Metro.

The Orange station is 15 miles from home.

For the 2015 Waffle Ride, after you climbed Double Peak, you went down what I think is the turnoff in your picture, sort of a right and another right. I'm attaching the link to the strava route and you can zoom in on that portion. On the ride, I ended up dropping down to San Elijo Rd from Double Peak. It was pretty wide, easy dirt, recall a couple of small waterbars, but it was rideable on a road bike. No idea if that's normally open to bikes or if anything I just typed was helpful.

Yes it is and there are 4 summit routes I believe. The rider in the picture is George Vargas or Rev Cycling.
