Santa Barbara CA gravel grinding

Santa Barbara CA gravel grinding (I also posted this in the Recreational Cyclocross and Gravelbiking forum)

I'm looking to do some gravel grinding in Santa Barbara and wanted to see if anyone here knows the area.

Some of the roads/fireroads I'm looking to ride are West and East Camino Cielo and Romero Canyon road. Are these rideable on a road bike with 30c's?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

I believe all three are can be ridden. You might also think about Refugio Road north and red rock -> Gibraltar dam-> camino cielo.

I'm familiar with West and East Camino Cielo dirt road sections, they are relatively rough. You could ride them carefully/slowly on a road bike, but the ideal machine is a hardtall 29er or a gravel bike with 40c + tires.
