any ride reports for transiting the I-5@Carmenita?

In summer of 2015, Caltrans opened 4 out of 6 lanes on the new Carmenita Bridge.

At this time, unless anyone can report otherwise, I avoid this bridge and use the CCRT to Foster and merge onto Carmenita to go north. Even if lanes are open I expect debris and dangerous drivers, so I will avoid the bridge for now.

I've ridden both the new Alondra Bridge and the Shoemaker Bridges over the I-5 without too much trouble. At first the Alondra Bridge had noticeable metal shavings in the first few months.

A quick check of Strava showed no popular routes over this bridge.

Rode this today on the way to Whittier Hills. Its not worth it. Still better to enter & exit at Foster Road CCRT (2nd image).

They split the bridge in two, using 4 lanes on the west side. Bikes have no special dedicated space, so rider beware. Saturday morning at 9:30 there was almost no traffic, but during rush hour this would be a gauntlet of the worst kind for a rider.

Got a slow leak puncture at the top of Colima. Took forever to fix it, but lucky me, no Sheriff's Helicopter buzzed me.

Google maps went through this area again in the last week of June. So this is a monthly report, now the 3rd installment.

You can start to see what the final look will be. This is not simply a bridge, but a complex of cross streets and freeway exits and entrances too.
In some spots, due to the Freeway Onramp exits, there are only 2 lanes going through. No space is dedicated to bikes (no significant shoulder either) making this bridge tough to navigate.
