Inland Empire Folks: Rapha 500?

I did my first Rapha 500 last year (my first year on the bike) and make some very questionable decisions in order to finish it-- including riding 114 miles on December 30th-- I left at sunup and got home after sundown. This year, I'm hoping to make some less questionable decisions, which will include not picking routes with 2,000-3,000 feet of climbing in them. It is a distance challenge, after all.

The point of this is is that I look forward to it all year, then when I get into the middle of it, those miles seem really hard to rack up, and the desire to sit on the sofa starts to grow stronger than the will to ride. It is 39 miles a day if I ride all 8 days, and last year I could only get on the roads on 6 of those days. So I'm just sending a shout out to see if anyone in the Inland Empire (Highland, Redlands, San Bernardino, Riverside, Ontario, Fontana, and all of the places in between) is planning on the Rapha this year, and if they wouldn't mind some company on a ride or two.

I'm shooting for riding at least 7 days this year, as logistics tend to make riding on Xmas Day all but impossible. It sure would be nice to have someone to keep/keep me company on a ride or two, as it's about a 50% increase in my usual weekly mileage, and by the last week of the year, I'm getting pretty tired.

I think mostly it's that I just don't want to do out-and-backs on the SART every day. It should be fun, not a chore.

I like the RF500, some people complains about being during the holidays but that's what makes it a challenge. Anyway, I'm doing it again this year, I'm not sure what I'm gonna be riding on weekends, but on the 26th I'll be mountain biking (that's bad for mileage but good for the soul) and the 27th I'll do my favorite local 50 mile ride. Sart from Waterman to La Sierra, el Sobrante, Woodcrest, Canyon Crest, UCR and back home. I ride in the mornings, even on weekdays. If the time works, we should arrange some rides, it should be good to have company.

Let me know what time you'll be heading out from Waterman on Monday (here or via PM) and I'll meet you down there. I live about 9 miles east of the trailhead, so I just ride to the trail from home.

I hope to have about 1/3 of the miles logged before Monday.
