Planning to climb Verdugo Mountains...easiest path up?

I'm planning to hill climb the Verdugo Mountains this weekend, I've done it before no problem on my gravel bike. This time around, I'm bringing my roadie buddies who aren't used to riding hard packed dirt fire roads. Is there a trail route to get to the top that would be easy for them? Last time I went up I took the Beaudry Loop trail head. Thanks for any suggestions!

Easiest grade from the bottom is probably Las Flores Motorway, least elevation gain would be Stough Canyon Motorway from the parking lot but it has a rough start, hardest is Chandler Motorway off of Edmore

Thanks for the heads up! Change of plans, most likely we'll join another group ride to Cherry Canyon this weekend. I'll hold off on the Verdugos for later this month.

With all the rain between Christmas and New Year's Day it's probably still muddy in some spots up there so wait a few weeks for it to dry out. Also watch out for any channels and potholes made in the dirt by the run-off from those storms. Nothing more depressing on your first dirt road outing than to face-plant in the mud or sticker-filled brush. :(
