My 27.5" tire is "burping" off of my 23.5" wheel

Greetings,

I recently replaced the rear tire on my Ancheer 27.5" E-bike. The tire is 27.5" X 2.1" or 54-584 metric. The wheel is 23.5" (approximately) in diameter as measured from rim to rim, and the inner clearance (width) of the wheel measures 21.5mm.

All the charts I have seen so far recommend this tire size but the tire will not stay seated in the wheel and "burps" out slightly over the rim when inflated.

Can someone with greater knowledge than I recommend an appropriate tire size for this wheel? Thank you, in advance, for any assistance.

Well, it looks like I am the one with greater knowledge (now). I was using a tire that came folded up in a box and it had none of the rigidity that I am used to in a regular tire. I removed the tire, checked the tube, and reinstalled the tire. I then used soap detergent to line the edge of the tire responsible for grabbing the edge of the rim. The tire is currently holding at 40 lbs with no apparent bubbling.

Folded tires can be a bit awkward to deal with. Glad you got it figured out.
