Iím finally getting around to this.

Hey all, I'm Ralph and I really do live in Santa Ana near Sunflower and Fairview. Itís only about two miles from the SART and that's where I spend most of my time. It's not the biggest challenge, but I can get there on a lightly traveled road safely (Sunflower) and ride nonstop (when it's not being worked on) all day long.

I bought my first road bike when I was 16 or so, a Peugeot U08 and have ridden off and on ever since. I rode a steel Specialized Allez in the 80's and early 90ís and just brought it out of retirement again about three years ago. When I started seeing all the new bikes with the really wide rear ends I looked into it and walked out the same day with my 04 Specialized Roubaix Pro. I ride as much as possible and mostly ride with a great group of guys I meet on the SART about a year and a half ago. And have been on a number of rides with BF group members, including the Apple Pie Ride, the Baldy ride and a few others.

Iím divorced with a ten year old daughter that I have about half the time, so when Iím with her I donít ride. So I can sometimes go a couple of weeks without getting in more than a couple of rides. So Iím constantly fighting the battle of the bulge and at 50, the bulge appears to be winning.

Say ďheyĒ if you see me on the SART.

This is the view today from my place - i go south down into the valley flats (you can just make out the bay) or north up into the national forest and mountains...depending on my mood

havent got any pics of me on my bike yet cos i ride alone - but i will work around it somehow lol
I love that bike. I'll trade you for a SoCal jersey.

Mine will not impress you, Man from Down Under. It's a mere Trek 1500 Women's Specific (I just have to add that because I like saying it - ). Anyway, it's all aluminum with a carbon fork. My Dad bought it for me, and he offered to spend more for a nicer bike. But he's retired and I would rather he keep his money for the future. In the meantime, I'm thrilled to have my "cadillac" - it fits me like a glove and is very reliable.

Night.
Look it...if you're wearing tight shorts and a muscle tee, I'll chase you up and down those sand dunes all day long. Now that would be an "off bike" training method I'd enjoy. And it's doubtful I'd spew. I'm pretty tough.

If I had offered to rub his bare body down with sand and then lick it off - now THAT would have been dirty. I was merely speaking in training terms that if he were here running me up and down sand dunes, I suspect I'd have proper motivation. See? Completely clean and appropriate. Besides, you stay out of it.

I like trainers of all shapes and sizes... But regardless, you're married, and your WIFE chasing me up and down the sand dunes with baseball bat isn't what I have in mind (although it would be motivating!).

I used to wear muscle shirts, but the tan lines from cycling just got too ridiculous.

My husband says the same thing...I try not to post when he's home, but that's not very often.

That reminds me...I need to renew our membership at the firing range, I was just thinking about that a few days ago. What a nice stress reliever.
