I've been posting here for a little bit but never formally introduced myself.

My name is Steve, and I've been riding for about 7 months or so. Used to live in Long Beach but now I live in lovely Costa Mesa. I usually trek down PCH and up Newport Coast.

Anyhow, I'm 26 and I ride with the Bicycle Club of Irvine. It was strange at first being one of the youngest guys in the club but now I've made some interesting new friends.

Funny thing about being 26 in BCI-- everybody wants to give me advice, which I freely accept. God knows, I need it.

Hey Fixer, good to hear from you and thanks for the invite. I won't be able to make it on Sat. since it's my ladies "birthday celebration weekend" as she has been calling it for some time now. I did read me's post and I would agree with her that it is pretty cold at nites and I imagine near freezing up in the canyons. Anyways, it sounds like she is having a hell of a time finding a bulb. I can wait til '07 for the nite rides, and if worse comes to worse and I have a real craving for one, I can always ride my trainer with the door closed and the lights off

Hi everyone,

My name is Alfred. I found this site while researching one of my old roadbikes. This is a great site from what I've seen, the folks in the vintage forum (only forum I've posted on so far) are a nice and helpful bunch.

I live in Irvine, am primarily a roadie but do a fair amount of mountain biking. I've been cycling for about 11 years, but went through spells with little to no riding thanks to work. Anyway, I'm back on the bike and just started riding with BCI. I found that riding by myself just wasn't yielding any results since it was too easy not to push.

I'm still looking at some of the other local clubs, just trying to find a good group to ride with.

Sorry, no pics of myself (you wouldn't want to see my ugly mug anyway), but here is a pic of my main ride.

I've been looking at the posts and saw that there is a ride down to San Diego on Sunday. I'm thinking about doing this, if the weather holds up. The woman is pushing me to do it (it has been a looong time since I did a good long ride), so we'll see.

You really have to do the ride, make the little lady happy. My wife is not riding this one she is going to be our SAG support,if she would like they can drive down there together.

Hey, new here. Live in Downtown LA, daily commuter to USC (only about 4 miles) I ride a red Peugeot triathlon everywhere between downtown and west hollywood with a big blue messenger bag on my back...

Also, building up a singlespeed with a 700c coaster brake hub to leave locked up in hollywood so I don't need to take my ride on the subway.

Adam here. Just joined this forum after hooking up with the Aliso-Woods group this morning. Nice group of riders and great ride. Hope to hook up for more rides in the near future.

I live in San Juan and pretty much hit anywhere that has dirt. I spend 50% on a SS, and 50% on a 3 speed. Fortunate to have a job in land management that gives me the ability to spend a lot of time on the trails and get in a lot of riding - both work and play.

See ya out on the trails!

Pic's at play and at work

Hey..I used to ride my horse on those trails! (SJC)

new at cycling, trying to take on the traffic here on Kaleaneole highway, east Oahu.

I manage about 7 miles 4-5 days a week and am just getting my shoe/ clip/ pedal situation dialed in.

BF rides a Felt, I have a Vitus.

Glad to see you on here Adam!

I cannot believe that I have never posted in this thread.... Here goes.

My name is Phil and I ride my bike more than enough and complete double centuries (and longer in 2007) on a semi-regular basis. I have been to many of the BF rides, and everyone that I have met is great!

standard routes include Santiago Canyon or the Back Bay with Newport Coast/Vista Ridge.

Hi, I'm Daniel hailing from San Diego. Not new to BF but I just started reading this forum. I've been roadbiking on and off for years, most recently on after about two years off. I ride an old Trek 2120 with everything upgraded except the frame and seatpost. Reading this forum has inspired me to sign up for the Stagecoach century, which I may just barely be ready for in time for the event. If I see any red stars I will be sure to introduce myself.

Hi, I'm new here.
My name is Joy, and I'm taking a break from TE for some XY.
I live in the South Bay and ride the SB bike path most of the time. My goal this year is to improve on the sprint tri and see if I can move up to the OD. I currently ride a Specialized roadie but hope to add a Quintana Roo later this year.

Hi Brandy, I don't think so... but maybe. I'm getting old and the ol' bean doesn't work as well as it used to.

Mo, there's more of us on the planet and we live longer, too. Get over it.
