octico 09-29-06 07:39 PM

Which one did you get ?

jsigone 09-29-06 08:17 PM

first ride long ride tomorrow????

Oleanshoebox 09-29-06 11:10 PM

i got the hardrock. i had budget issues at the last minute and even the extra twenty bucks for the rockhopper became a big deal. i'm happy, though. no buyer's remorse. i feel like i took my time and picked something that i really like. i'm gonna get up at five and ride until the wife calls me home. probably only an hour or two, but i can't wait.

Awesome. Be sure to report back on how it goes. :)

i love the new bike feeling, happy to see others have the same.

Oleanshoebox 09-29-06 11:21 PM

Oleanshoebox 09-29-06 11:21 PM

so maybe 5 am was a little ambitious. during the week i won't have a choice since i commute and i have my son in the evenings, but it was too dark to go on the trails and my legs started to burn out (they've been sore since 'legs day' at the gym on wednesday). still a fun ride, though. i think i have some work to do until i am in better condition to ride. gotta let my legs recover first, though. well, good morning! i need some coffee...

jsigone 09-30-06 07:53 AM

better dust off that light if you're going to be riding that early. Glad you got to get out though. It's nice and quiet on morning rides that ealier, most birds aren't even up yet.

Perfomance has lights on sale the Cygo Lite Night Rover NiMH Dual Beam 12w are only $69 with double your points this weekend you get them for about $45

jsigone 09-30-06 08:08 AM

i got that light from beyond bikes 2 years ago. Pretty good light, I was out riding it last year but I should be ok this year since I'll be on the SS during the off season. $45 is a darn good price for it.

Sorry what is the SS ?

Oleanshoebox 09-30-06 09:24 AM

i'm afraid i'll have to wait until my next paycheck to get a light. i got in enough trouble for getting my bike. i had some nice ones on my schwinn that got stolen. don't know what brand or anything, my grandpa put them on.

that is BEAUTIFUL. i want a road bike bad but i want to do trails AND long road rides maybe a triathlon someday. i decided on a hardtail because i could afford one now and entry level road bikes were out of my price range. i was raised riding road bikes with my grandfather. we once rode from malibu to santa barbara and he was over seventy at the time. that memory's a goodie.
