Wait... weren't you wondering just yesterday why someone would need more than two bikes?

OC Roadie, go ahead and get your new road bike. As long as it's black, your wife probably won't be able to tell the difference anyway. Heck... my mom couldn't tell the difference between my Roubaix (black) and my R3 (red/white/black) until I told her that the R3 was new. (Not that it would matter if she could tell.)

I already told her, she'd notice the red. It's things like my carbon tubulars that go "unoticed"

Hey OC,

You should have dropped off the bike at my place, I owe you a crank change or two. Of course the only MTB you would have walked out with would have been my daughters Specialized Girls Hotrocks, and it's a little small for even me.

Well I just got back from my first MTB ride in about 12 years Pico and I met at the Wildlife Sanctuary at Modjeska Canyon. We rode the Harding Trail up to Modjeska, where we ran into a couple of buddies from the road. We followed them down Maple Springs back to Silverado Canyon. We we're going to take some double track trail, but missed the turn-off, oh well, it was great ride. The climb up Harding Trail is tough, and I definetly need to hone my handling skills. The downhill was a blast. The bike is great, it floats over the bumps, and feels very solid. We ended up with 27 miles, 3500' of climbing, and 2:40 ride time. I can't wait to go again, too bad that you get too dirty to ride MTB before work

uhm..... paul.... it doesn't have to cost that much! and just think.... it COULD cost a LOT more than a grand... it all just depends on what she wants and what she needs (my mountain bike is cheap... but of course... i lust after a new pink one!)

you didn't have time to swap cranks, but you had enough time to pick up a new bike?

=|

hmm... i wonder if my bike needs anything worked on...
