So-Cal group ride in Nor Cal

Today i had the pleasure of doing a short mt bike ride with tracy and Wayne. The weather was very co-operative for a change and the trail was very packed. Due to time constraints we just stayed local and rode Quicksilver Park, The views were great as the valley was very clear from days of rain. Tracy is a sandbagger and climbs much better then she will admit. Oh and her bike may be just a little dirty now. Tomorrow morning we will be meeting up again for a road ride and we are gonna venture up Old la Honda Rd in Woodside and a minor 30somthing mile loop with a modest amount of climbing . I cant wait to meet the rest of you at Stage Coach.

Ah bummer, you will be missed. But we are doing a shorter loop due to weather possibilities.

Great ride today, thank you Sean! I highly recommend that anyone who has the opportunity, come ride up here w/Sean! He didn't shove me off into a ravine either... However, he did make me granny up a very long hill.... of course, he was already at the top sleeping by the time I made it up there... but I can at least say that I warned him!

Looking forward to tomorrow... although, what is a little elevation gain to Sean is a huge mountain to me!

t~

ps. and Herb, Sean is just being nice, I was SO pokey... 4mph the entire way up the hill..... did a bit better on the downhill though

Well I just got home from our road ride with Wayne and Tracy and my friend Crazy Andy. We rode somewhere just over 40 miles. It was a beautiful ride and we did climb Old La Honda, which I might add Tracy trucked right on up. It was a bit chilly today, and at the top of the climb we decided to head back instead of down the other side and back up. This time we took pictures, and Im sure they will be pposted soon enough. My cord is at work, but perhaps Tracy has hers. The rain held out during our ride, although we never saw the sun. Ill post pics later.

Sean is just trying to be nice... it took me an hour to get up a 4 1/2 mile hill! Just to give you something to compare it to... Andy goes to the top in like 20 minutes.... they were sleeping at the top waiting for me!

I didn't take many pics... I tried but then I was going so slow that I'd end up swerving and blurring the pic... I'm including one just to back up my story

this is what happens when you are riding 3mph and swerving

Well reguardless of how long it took, you conquered a climb that you were not sure of. Be proud of that, and next time we can add Tunitas creek which is one of the most beautiful climbs. You can do that one too, no problem.

well, I can still feel my legs, that's a good thing I'm sure they'll be a little dead for a day or two but I'm looking forward to seeing how today's ride effects my regular ride... maybe I'll see a difference! I'm looking forward to coming up again and doing more rides! Thanks to you and Andy for riding today, you're the best!
... and yes, I'm pretty happy that I completed OLH w/out stopping I'll have to do it again next time when my computer is working so I can compare! And wait a minute... isn't tunitas creek the one andy was talking about being brutal???

You're da bomb Sean! I had a great time, thank you again for riding!

Tunitas Creek is longer, steeper in the beginning and tapering as you go. The last three miles is maybe 3%, you can do it I promise. I didnt lead ya stray this time, trust me. You will love the climb, its soo beautiful. Then we get to decend Kings Mountian Road, the funnest decent I know of.

Andy is funny that way, he climbs Tunitas at aboout an average of 12mph.

I've climbed as low as 3 mph, Trac, so don't sweat it. Besides, you GOT UP IT! Oh, and nice shots of the boys (where are you?). Since I was just up there over Thanksgiving, that was exact scenery I was riding in. It's really beautiful up there. I'm still considering trying to get a BF group up there for the Sea Otter Classic Century.

I was in the back, as usual... duh and I'm sure I was doing 3-4 mph... some parts were better than others but it was gorgeous! I love riding up here, I miss all of my old training rides!
