Ha, I snuck one in

After dilly dallying around here all morning waiting for it to rain. I finally just went. Only got 18 miles in before the rain finally came but it pouring here now.

Yes, well, I opted for the spin class (great this morning, I had tons of energy from going to bed early last night) and weights. It was raining in Glendale when I finally got out, but it dried up enough for me to get my bike home without her getting wet!

Awesome.

I got lazy and decided to wait until tomorrow to ride.

After sitting here feeling lazy, I got one in too. Figured that an hour out there had to beat an hour of Spinning.

I did the Montrose Ride (short) this morning and we didn't get rained on. But when we got to Sierra Madre we did hit some recently rained-on roads and got the obligitory roostertail stripe up the back of the shorts. But other then that we avoided getting wet.

FWIW, my rule for the rain is when I'm ready to leave home and it's coming down, I stay home, but if it's not pissing down when I'm ready to roll out, I'll go and adjust my ride as the weather reveals itself.

Our club ride from Northridge was going just fine until we got a little too far west... around Westlake the rain was just enough to make it miserable for about a half-hour. Once we got back east (Calabasas or so?), it dried up for the most part.

Spin class is better than what I was GOING to do, just lay around. I am glad I snuck a ride in though. And when the rain started on me, I was on the Fillmore side of Grimes Canyon so I sprinted home. It felt great!!!

So, did you get all your errands done?

You lucky dog! Raining pretty good over here in Agoura Hills right now. We have to leave in a few minutes to head your direction...soccer playoff game at Conejo Creek Park and they called to let us know we are still on!

That's pretty much my sketchy-weather riding rule as well. It worked out today.

Did the usual Saturday routine: Meet at Stell, ride over to Riverside, suffer (Raincross ride.), ride home. Last couple miles, coming back into Redlands, it started to get windy and spit a little rain, but it was pretty mild. Not much more than a sprinkle. Funny part was when some dude pulled off at a bar to call his wife to come pick him up. He was about three miles from home, and was gleefully mocked.

Last several weeks I've been putting in a couple extra hours, after the group ride, in order to get at least 5 hours in. Used the rain (Though it *still* hasn't really started coming down. I coulda stayed out for at least another hour.), and the fact that I was sick early this week, as an excuse to slack off and come home early.

Apparently living in SoCal makes me soft. How would I ever survive someplace that has actual weather?

Crap, raining here in Ontario right now... I really should have gotten up early to ride. However i did just put on a rear fender (cheap SKS clip on) in case i encounter any wet roads tomorrow morning.

I went out with Agoura Cycles today. Got caught in the rain, but it wasn't too bad.
Got home before it got too bad.
Only 6 riders showed up but was a fun ride as usual with this group!

You guys all suck. I'm still coughing from the pneumonia I just got over, and I have no interest in breathing in all that cold air and relapsing.

Okay, okay, I admit I was up on time and ready to eat breakfast and come over to the shop....then i caught a few drizzles and after much debate, I didn't think anyone else would show up over there!
You are truly hearty!

I was up too... Looked out the window and saw all the dampness on the road and had the same thoughts as Sheldon has posted.

Thanks...now I don't feel so bad! I'm hoping it will be decent enough to stuff out a quick one early Sunday morning. I have to be back home before 8....ah who am I kidding? I'll never get up that early tomorrow!

Got in a 25 mile ride, glad I did.
Paced a rider that was quicker than I, he didn't seem to mind. It also forced me to keep my power level up!

Was wondering about getting caught in the rain also.
But hey, it's 5pm now, and not a drop in Costa Mesa!
