Did a super tour of Aliso Woods

just got back from Aliso Woods, WOW that was fun. Took my green bike out w/ all the gears in it's glory and amazing how much faster I am now on that machine. We did the "super tour", not many people there so traffic was light on the trails. Rode Dripping cave, Coyote, Cholla Up, Cholla Down, Cholla Up, down the fire road a bit, hauled ass down Rock It, back Up Coyote to Cholla, Up Cholla, top fire road to Top of the World, Down Meadows, Up Meadows, Down Meadows and paved road back to the car. It was about 23 miles of fun, pace was 15.8 mph for the entire ride. Top speed was 41.2mph down the upper section of Rock It before the rock garden My friend LOVED that place, hence the repeats on some of the stuff there. No rain just overcast and windy on the top fire road and lower paved road. Sorry no pic

we hit the rain going there, was pouring by the power plant and even right at the exit, but was clear once we got away from the freeway. You missed a good one!! Lots of hualin ass downhills. My rear rim is now bent, it's off about 1/4-3/8" on one side, I landed a bit wrong on the rock drop on Rock It. Oh well, nothing that a ground beating can't fix. It was dragging the brakes for 1/2 the ride, but not too bad.

And me, with my pristine brakes that don't work...and super clean bike that's never seen the dirt. I need to bang it off a few rocks soon.

How are your ribs, SirLance? I heard you took it hard but kept a stoic face. I would have been crying like a baby and demanding that someone carry me out of there.

just like the roadie, you don't really notice that you're moving that fast. Though 41mph on dirt n rocks is a wee bit more dangerous then on the smooth pavement

Let me know when you get the OK from the doc to hit the trails again. I hope it wasn't anything too serious, I'm sure you brused a couple ribs with that shot you took. Let me tell you, if you enjoyed climbing Cholla (before your crash), going DOWN is a WHOLE LOT BETTER!!!! My buddy dropped me like nothing as he cleaned that DH barely touching his brakes. When he got to the botttom, there was a few guys down there that watch him and his crazy speed. They asked if his brakes worked cuz they never seen someone DH that run like that His responce, "yah they work but barely dabbed them in the turns" He also races motocross and races DH in Fontana, and you all wonder were I get my crazyness from
