i haven't looked up the serial number yet, just going by what the guy I bought it from said, I'll check it now and confirm(not that I doubt for a second that your right)

kbpfister 01-13-09 06:53 PM

the serial is KG138205 and it's on the bottom of the headtube

the database I looked it up on says it's from October 1971

I think opaque green was '72 only.

Serial number indicates frame built October (K), 71 (G). The finally assembly could be anytime afterwards.

Also, Schwinn converted model years in late summer and early fall for the Christmas season.

This bike most likely is a 1972 model by the color, Opaque Green, a sharp and distinct color.

I appears in good condition and having the three piece crank setup, can be upgraded and maintained for many years, (IMHO).

To bad it is two tall for your comfort, not much you can do to correct that single factor.

Read your post at the Schwinn forum and found your listing here.

All the best, regardless of avenue you take.

I love spending time on the forums, cuz no matter what your trying to find out you always learn something you didn't expect to

Hi:

Is your Sports Tourer still available?

Would you be willing to sell?

If so, how much would you want?

I live in the L.A. area and could easily pick it up from you.

Let me know...

Thanks!

Tony

I have a Yakima Rim Roc 3 hitch mount bike rack for trade. It holds 3 bikes and has a cable lock as well as hitch lock. It fits a 2" hitch. The bike mount from the rims so it will accommodate any frame type without the need for a top tube add on. Here is a link to a review and pic in use.

Not looking for anything specific, just something of value and does not need to be cycling related. I am in Irvine.

Would like to trade my golf clubs for a front suspension Mountain Bike.

My clubs are Hogan Apex Irons. They are a forged cavity in great condition. My 60 degree is a Cleveland Triple Grind Rusty. The Putter is a brand new Oddsey White Hot center shaft w/cover.
Taylor Made sc200 3 wood ( still one of the top played 3 woods by pro's) and a Macgregor Vfoil 10 degree driver. Everything is in great condition. I just want to get into Mountain biking
