Clinics or seminars for newbies?

Are there any So. Cal. shops that put on clinics on bike maintenance or machanics? Seems like a good idea but I haven't heard of any.

I'd even pay money for that.... but I'd like to record it on video to post pieces in my safety presentations.

Any mechanically inclined actor wanna-be's out there in cycle land?

You can check with your local REI, although I've read that some have not been happy with their classes - depends on the instructor. Of course, they offered a free class recently, so you can't go wrong with that.

The LA Tri Club is putting on a maintenance clinic on January 24. No price, so I'm assuming it's free. According to the post, it looks like non-members are welcome, although call and double-check. I plan on going, so if you are required to be escorted by a club member, I will be happy to do so.
