Power Foods for cycling performance...where's Matt?

My memory is horrible. We have...

Nacho Cheese (debatable because there might be some protein in there)
Alfredo Sauce
Coconut Oil

and **********?

These should all fit nicely in a hammer flask, no? :p

Caramel

Brandy 03-12-07 02:09 PM

That's it! I couldn't remember...perfectly flaskable!

GP 03-12-07 02:12 PM

My memory is horrible.

What side of the bike do you lean to when you're puking?

Are you suggesting that our, and when I say "our" I really mean Matt's, power foods will induce vomiting? :D :p

GP 03-12-07 02:25 PM

The mixture of nacho cheese and alfredo sauce will probably make me puke, however, the coconut oil might give me a nice tan.

Brandy 03-12-07 02:34 PM

No, no, no...there's no "external applying" of any of the power foods. These go straight from the flask to your mouth. Tsk, tsk, tsk.

Indolent58 03-12-07 02:35 PM

  • Ghee - indian clarified butter
  • Betty Crocker canned frosting

Brandy 03-12-07 02:41 PM

Ohhh...those are good Dan. We'll have to let Matt make the final decision. There are specific criteria for making the PF list. :p

thomson 03-12-07 03:02 PM

Those are some strong stomachs there.

I'd say that unprepared EggBeaters would do nicely in a flask. Especially after 10 hours in 90 degrees.

Mo'Phat 03-12-07 03:14 PM

Oh, and Newman's Own Ranch dressing.

Bonus: it's already pre-flasked.

Chucklehead 03-12-07 03:56 PM

get the stuff in the can. you won't even have to tilt your head back when consuming it.

Scootcore 03-12-07 04:56 PM

and you could do low level "whipits"!!!

ooooooo...whipped cream, the crappy kind that sprays.....

Sorry...eggbeaters do not qualify due to their superior nutritional value.

DaveSANYYZ 03-12-07 06:06 PM

So is this "food" to give energy to legs; or is this some sort of rocketry propellent like eating beans. ;)

Extort 03-12-07 06:12 PM

It is items that have zero nutritional value, but it seems like we have skipped an entire genre of food that should qualify...

McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's
Taco Bell, Del Taco
TGI Fridays

and of course, anything on the rollers at 7-11

How do you get a Big Mac in a squeeze bottle? Wait- don't answer that

Not true, because after the hours in the hot sun, the chowder factor multiplies exponentially. Regardless of any 'nutritional value', the fact you'll blow chunks with the faintest whiff means they qualify.

VanceMac 03-12-07 08:14 PM

My personal formula is 4 parts partially hydrogenated vegetable oil, 2 parts high fructose corn syrup, 1 part MSG, and sometimes I will add an extra sprinkling of free radicals.
