What amazing weather in So Cal !

Wow.. With DST and the weather we are having this week, getting out and cycling is amazing.

Put in nearly 60 miles today after work....

Rode with a guy that is on the Amgen Masters Racing Team that I met out here. Luckily I had a riding partner today as I pinch flatted both the front and rear at the same time. Had one tube and a repair kit so I swapped out one tube and patched the other.

Murphy's law came into play as upon inflating one of the tubes I heard a BOOM... Bead flat ! Oops.

Luckily we had another tube available.

Yeah, that's what that weather lady with the huge umm, brains (that's it, brains) is telling me on channel 9.

Yeah, she needs to quit standing sideways so we can see what's happening on half the Map...:D

Temperatures were good but holy crap it's dry... On my commute home yesterday i downed 3/4 of my water bottle in 4 miles... And it was all downhill! Ok, having to sprint over half of it to keep up with traffic didn't really help, but i really could do without the terribly chapped lips and dry throat. :(

I sit in front of a computer all day and can't even imagine sitting here for the rest of the day after getting all sweaty from even an easy ride...yuck!

Fog rolled in yesterday about 1 pm and cooled things off immediately. Foggy again this morning.

Ah, well that's the beauty of being a network admin at a high school! I've got full workout facilities and showers on campus. When I finish my lunchtime rides, it's an easy clean-up.

During the part of the year when I can ride my bike to work, I leave a change of clothes the day before. When I arrive, I get showered, wash out my riding gear and put it in the PE Dept. dryer so everything is ready for the afternoon commute home!

here and there 03-14-07 10:12 AM

It was 86 degrees on Sunday, 90 degrees on Monday. Thankfully the clouds/fog rolled in last night and really cooled things off. I'll take 60 degrees and cloudy anyday over anything above 75 degrees. :p

I still remember the time in Toronto where my 1 hr commute (by car) took 5+ hrs during a snow storm. I didn't get home until ~11pm after a normal day of work. There were many traffic accidents along the way.

But then again, these type of traffic delays is kind of like regular LA traffic...

They're hurricanes in the western hemisphere. The last time I experienced a major typhoon was when I was a kid. I miss major storms.....including electrical rain storms. I really miss cozying indoors over some hot chocolate during stormy weather.
Weather is never exciting living here in L.A.

I think it's an Asia thing; or Pacific? I think one side calls it the hurricane and the other calls it typhoons.

Its somebody's thing and glad its their thing, including hurricanes!

Mo'Phat 03-14-07 08:43 PM

I thought it had to do with which ocean it came from (ie: Pacific = typhoon, Atlantic = hurricane)

But the word typhoon comes from the Japanese Tai Fun, which means 'being blown as by a Bangkok stripper."
