Mulholland Challenge Preview??

Is anyone planning on doing a mulholland challenge preview ride??
Or does someone want to put one together?
It wouldn't have to be the whole ride...what do you think?

No plans yet, but that does not mean one can not be planned... Relize that Muholand is only 3 weeks away, and the only possable date would be in two weeks - I am not sure if anyone would be interested...

Here are a few options for routes if anyone's interested. The last one is close to the official ride, but has a little more climbing. The other one's are variations of the eastern half (stunt, piuma, topanga etc)

38 miles-4900 ft

66 miles, 8100 ft

How about this Saturday. We could start at the Commons in Calabassas then take Mulholland to Little Sycamore, Yerba down to Cotharin, to Deer Creek, to Pch and Neptunes Nest .After the break PCH to Encinal back to Mulholland to the store on Sierra Creek then Mulholland to Stunt, up Stunt and back down to Mulholland and back to the Commons. I did it a few weeks ago. Thats most of the M.C. route. Its 83 miles with 10,000+ ft.

The L.A. Wheelmen Grand Tour training rides start this weekend with the San Francisquito/Lake Hughes road ride. It's fun.

Doesen't that go out Boquet and over Spunky Cyn. Could ride out to Three Points and back . I wonder who will be out there with Solvang Double the same day. Clem Bartoli will be doing his 50th double up there. Wow.

Go Clem! Yes Bob, up Bouquet, Spunky to San Fran to Lake Elizabeth road to Lake Hughes road. No need to add to it for me. I'll ask the girls if they want to do that or the Commons thing.
This being Karen's thread, maybe we should see what she has to say.

There has been some talk of that, doing the 4 counties part of it anyway as a preview for Sea to Summit as well. BUT, its mighty cold out there this time of year.

I could do the Wheelman ride just as well Saturday and do Mul on the 7th. Whatever the group wants to do. I would want to go at least out to 3 points to turn around. Depends on how the wind is blowing. Never know out there.

My friends can't decide until Thursday or Friday, usually, but I will push for the Mulholland ride.

Yes, the Corner Bakery in the Commons. We park at the far west end of the lot. Let's ride at 8:00. It's on!

Looks like a good group is forming for this MC Preview. Would like to get The Fixer, Akak2000, and Cleave, if possible. Of course, all BFers are welcome. Put your climbing legs on.

John,

Looks like I'll be there, I will know for sure on Friday. With my current level of fitness looks like I'll be tail end charlie for this ride, but I need the climbing practice.

I think it's west, young man. The opposite end from the Corner Bakery, along Park Granada. Just look for Bob, he's always early.
