How did you get the weight of that OCR down? Mine weighs in several pounds heavier.

Name: Patsy - and, no, it doesn't sing
Did you actually have it weighed at the LBS? Let's see what is fully loaded ... saddle bag with wrench, hammer, anvil, chain breaker, tire irons ... HID's, and two fully filled water bottles ... 28 lbs seems light with all that loaded on the bike.

Last time you passed me, I thought I hear it sing

It's the OCR composite, so it's a carbon frame. Is it the same as yours? (Original post edited.)

Swapping the heavy SPDs for Crank brothers Quattros was a start. Thomson seatpost and stem probably helped too.

Road Bike: Cannondale System Six
Gearing: Dura Ace 53/39, 11-23
Weight: Just over 16 lbs. with Shimano R-500 training wheels, right around 15 even with Bontrager XXX Lite Carbon tubular race wheels.

Single Speed: Bianchi S.A.S.S.
Gearing: Truvativ cranks 34X17
Weight: ? (It's the go have fun bike)

I want to retire the Bianchi and get a Trek 69'er for this winter, but I hate having to pay for bikes (especially a bike that I ride a couple of times a week for about two months out of the year) and since I don't race mountain bikes no one wants to give me one.

First off, I can't believe that most of you have machines that are around half the weight of my trusty steed.

Bike Make/Model: 2005 Fuji Touring
Gearing: Tiagra / Deore, Truvativ Touro 30/42/52, SRAM cassette 11/32 -- all incredibly cheap stock stuff
Wheels: Deore XT hubs, Mavic rims -- fairly heavy duty to handle the daily commute, grocery runs, etc.
Tires: Continental Contact Security, with snappy reflective sidewalls -- I can hear you all drooling now!
Weight: 34.8 lbs.

Do I get the prize for heaviest bike? And that was minus water bottles and lighting and fenders and with the 28s instead of the 32s. This bike is a tank. I love it!

The project bike, a SS conversion, is almost complete. It will be ridiculously lighter. I promise.

Mine is the standard OCR, Alum plus carbon fork with factory components. Next upgrade will likely be wheels, to replace the fairly heavy (2100 gm) Xeros.

My commuter bike in commuting trim (including lights and the U-lock mounted on it) probably gives your bike a run for the money.

It takes that much power to do 23 MPH on a recumbent? I can't sustain 230 watts. (I'm working on it.)

It takes that much to maintain 23+ over level ground no wind. Compared to 400 or so when you're on top the bars of a road bike, it's a huge savings. Picking up my meter tomorrow. Ordered a WB cover for it. Looking hard at those "Flashpoint 60's" which is esentially a 404. You've got to get a PT wheel, especially if you want to gauge your output over distance and see how you improve on rides. Last year on Floyd's breakaway everytime they zoomed in on him his PT had him well over 300 most the time, Robbie V was saying he could maintain 300+ for over 8 hours or something like that. insane.
