Beanz, I'm with you.. I'm trying for 30lbs by January

JustMe 08-27-07 04:43 PM

Hey Fred, I'm in. Need to drop 20 before the end of the year and try to build stamina. Got any ideas for a regularly scheduled long haul weekend route?

ovoleg 08-27-07 07:01 PM

I can't get any better, I've plateau'd. I'm just riding for fun now.

Nothing scheduled. You know me, SART is so convenient. I did bug Herb for another B2B ride, so maybe Sept 15.:D

Who is with me? :)

IN!

After the Baldy ride this weekend, where I was (huge surprise to me) actually hanging with the mountain goats, I'm this | | close to being where I want to be...now to just drop the 30 lbs, and I'll be good to go.

Running, Interval Training, hill repeats, and dieting are the ticket.

...

Care to make it interesting?

I'll join ya, Beanz! I gotta get back into race shape and drop a few percentage points. I think with the shorter days I'll be incorporating more running days into my week, so hopefully I can trim the excess fat off. Every year, it gets a little harder and harder... :o

I find every year; it gets a little more flaccid. It doesn’t matter what shape I am trying to achieve.

I think I will just buy a faster bike and pretend my shape not my mind got me there.

I'm working on getting into shape for next year, too! Now if I can only maintain my willpower... :o

I don't know about the KOM and Triple Crown, but I'll join you in losing weight. I need to lose 20 - 30 lbs. and it's time for me to get serious. I've started already by cutting out sweets except one free day on Sunday. I'm eating whole foods, nothing process and biking 5 days a week. Looking forward to my first century in 2008!

Kind of what I do except with 2 free days, Sat and Sunday. But before I know it, I start eating well on Sundays too knowing I'm going to feel like heck on Monday morning!:D

grrlyrida 08-29-07 12:29 PM

That's a thought.

Having a free day on Sat instead of Sunday is much better. Because I'm like a crack addict on a mattress with rubber tubing hanging from my arm by Sunday night. Sugar is like pure uncut crack to me and that's what I spend my entire Sunday eating. Last Sunday was the first Sunday I didn't eat any treats--cupcakes, cookies anything with my favorite food groups fat, sugar and flour. I felt great on Monday, but I went through withdrawals all day because I felt that I needed some sugar.:p

 You sound like me awhile back. I love cupcakes, but I won't go near Dots or Yummys now. Nor do I go into Portos Bakery. All of those are owned by Crack Lords, I'm sure of it. :p

Well Beanz,

I did lose 15 lb. going from 180 to 165 this Spring, but I'm still trying to get down to my pre-gettin' old weight of 155 (last seen in 1995). However, . . . it's not easy! No matter what, or how little I eat, and/or how much I ride, I can't seem to stay below 165 for very long.

I can't run, but maybe I can swim! I know Jackie would love that.

Rick / OCRR
