There are only 2 overnight camp grounds in Valley of Fire, both are in the Atlatl Rock loop/Beehive area west of the visitors center. The Atlatl Rock camp has showers.

Do it...just do it! :-) Hey, Mark (Hollywood) just challenged me last night to a spin-off at VOF on Saturday and then goes and plans to ride the Lee Canyon climb! That boy is confused. So, should Mark make an appearance Saturday, I'll need some extra muscle power to wear him out!!

This could be a maybe if the wheather is a little more conducive to a nights sleep and days ride. But tell us more about that Mt. Charleston Hill Climb thing on Saturday. Is there a link to the organizing entity?

Okay we just added another activity: "Rappelling and Rock Climbing in the Valley of Fire" - taught by the experts. Gear provided by the "Outfitters" in Boulder City.

No special shoes are needed. Hiking boots or even sneakers are fine. If you're an experienced Rappeller (if that's even a real word) I'm sure you would already have them. The guys/gals that are leading this excursion are seasoned climbers and stated you only need the above. But if you are experienced and don't have the shoes and plan on reaching new heights PM me.

I'm out. I should visit my parents since I haven't visited them for a while. Hopefully some other time... it really does look like fun.

Went and rode Lee Canyon yesterday (Mt. Chuck hill climb)....cannot see myself racing up that with 100 other bloaks....it took plenty of concentration just focusing on keeping myself on the road. For those of you who haven't done the climb...it's only 17 miles of pain and promise....just do NOT stop pedaling until you reach the top. VOF ride sounds really nice right now.
