New rest stop in PV finally open!

The 7-11 on the corner of Hawthorne/PV West finally opened a few days ago and ME and I dropped by to refuel, since we were sick of Starbucks and Subway was closed. As people familiar with PV know, the area is somewhat bare of places to refuel and replenish. We pulled up on our bikes and the owner (forgot his name, oops) came out and warmly greeted us.

He introduced us to his family (who were working there) and let us know that he liked cyclists and planned many of his offerings with us in mind: baskets of bananas and other fruits and a section for energy bars. Two of his refrigerated cases were stocked with nothing except Gatorade, Red Bull, Monster and Rock Star. Two separate clean restrooms that he said were welcome to passing cyclists. Plus, he told us he intends to install bike racks in front of the store, and that there was an abundance of security cameras in front. Super nice guy! :D

This is the first review of a 7-11 I have ever read.

Stopped by there on Saturday morning. Looked clean but I only did a quick look, didn't even get out of the pedals. Maybe tomorrow morning? Another blazing hot day.

Best 7-11 ever! His whole family was there (the wife was so adorable and all dressed up), and the workers were so friendly and smiling. I hope to ride a good deal in PV (Joy and the ride are both worth it :)) and that's going to be one of our stops for sure! He put our drinks (mine was a surpee) on the house.

+1,000,000 - only I don't indulge unless I'm riding or have ridden. I put some slurpee in my bottle today and it helped get me up Ganado and the hill before (18-22% grades!)

That would be Pinacolada slurpee and orange soda in my water bottle. It was the BEST of both that I've ever had! :p:D

Cool! I'll be sure to stop by if I'm heading to that direction.

Actually, I'll try to reach that spot tomorrow. I've been sidelined for almost two months now, I went on a short ride from west LA to Manhattan this morning and my body is aching.
