Onyx summit group ride yesterday?

Was heading up Hwy. 38, to race in Big Bear, yesterday morning, and noticed a lot of riders heading that way.

We have a couple different clubs in the area, and a couple regular group rides, but it seemed like a lot more riders than usual heading in that direction. Anyone know of anything special going on, or was it probably just one of the local clubs heading up Onyx?

Lots of people getting ready for Everest Challenge, so that might explain it...

I ride the area often also and usually recognize the locals. A couple of times I have run into a large group of riders (not a team) that come up from San Diego. There is a coach that hauls them all up here to ride Onyx, Oak Glen etc.
