Yes, but some days more nuts than others...

I feel fine actually. My legs are fine although I'm not tearing them down at the gym tonight. I think I'll stick to upper body and I may take the day off, but I haven't decided yet. And you, with your 16,000+ feet gain weekend?

I feel pretty good, although my legs were a little tight and stiff this morning. I am taking the day off, but I'm supposed to ride tomorrow and keep my speed up so I'll probably play with the peloton.

Hey guys, sorry about the drama - and I'm glad you made it out o.k...
Just two things - one is a thought, the other a question.
a) - you rode up through La Caņada from Pasadena (La Crescenta is West of La Caņada). Completely different city!
b) Having spent a few years living in LC (that's La Caņada) and frequenting Angeles Crest on a variety of vehicles and for various reasons, I was still lost when you mentioned places like "RedBox" and Newcombs Ranch, etc:... can you point me towards a map so I can connect the dots between my memory and these names?

Thanks!

I could swear that for some reason when you're descending AC that you see a La Crescenta sign...

Anyway, Redbox is the junction of Mt Wilson and Angeles Crest, Newcombs Ranch is the bar/restaurant that's a few miles past Upper Big T. Here's a Google Map link to Newcombs.

You looked a little out of sorts...

...I was sitting on the bench at Clear Creek and I saw the tail end of your saga. At first, I thought I was mistaken about the emotional state of the driver of the SUV, but given the circumstances...

Good to see you guys got home ok...

See you on the Crest.

That's funny, she saw you when she was driving by but didn't see me standing in the entrance, I had to yell at her to get her attention, and the only reason she heard me was my youngest son got motion sick and she had the windows open.

Did you get stuck on AC, too?

I was taking a break, trying to decide whether to go to Red Box or not. I finally gave in and went. Glad I made the extra effort. Made doing nothing with the rest of the afternoon, after I got home, guilt free.

I know what you mean, the ride to Red Box is one of my favorites, except that it always looks closer than it is and seems to get farther away the closer you get.

Thanks for the links... and that sign is for La Caņada.
La Crescenta is about 3 or 4 miles west, and Angeles Crest Highway does not lead into it.
