Well, who knows. Maybe it won't rain. I'm going out on my bike regardless. I'm just about to have some coffee and let my breakfast settle, then I'm out the door. I'm going to wear a rain cover just in case.

How could they possibly be dry? I wonder how many showed up this year since it's not a PBP qualifying year?

I just returned from a fantastic ride!! I was out in regular cotton shorts, polo shirt, on my fixed which happens to have the Carradice and lights on it. I started out just meandering but ended up "droping(sic) the hamer(sic)" and just had a really good time. Lot's of people out and about but they all had jackets. I have no idea why, it is lovely out. Bicycling is neat.

Was this the zen experience people talk about while riding a fixed gear?..

I actually didn't find it that funny. The characters are good, and so is the story.

Just returned from my ride. Got in about 23 miles ... at least it's something ... my first 23 miles of the year. Great ride too.

Only part that sucked??? Cleaning off all the gunk that accumulated while on the ride.

Hurray....first ride of 2008~ Massive 6.5 miles around the neighborhood. Just took it easy as I wanted to see how my shoulder (which was messed up) would feel.

You were'nt by chance wearing a light red sweater and singing, "It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a beautiful day in the neighborhood..." were you?

So, I have to tell this story because apparently I've lost all sexual appeal of any kind.

I go out to ride today and like a dumbass I have no spare tubes on me or Patsy. I knew I needed one last Saturday, so this was just stupidity and laziness on my part - especially given what a mess the roads were today. I should have made sure to have at least one in case I needed to change a flat. I take off from the Rose Bowl, go for several miles and decide to head back and try hill repeats (yeah, right) and I notice I have a flat on my back wheel. Well, I'm roughly 1.5 miles from the RB so I take off walking feeling like a dork and upon almost reaching the RB, two hot racer types, side by side, pass me at a relaxed speed. They slow down, and the guy on the left hollers, "Need help?" To which, I hollered back, "Yes, I need a tube!" The guy on the left looks at the guy on the right, who looks at him, they both look back, and then take off!

Now, I realize I looked like a walking garbage bag given that I had my fugly green rain slick on and all, but surely they could tell I was female!!!!! I started laughing so hard I almost peed my tights. I mean, who does that?!!!!!

Or maybe they thought I meant something else by yelling that I need a tube. Maybe my innuendo karma is coming back to bite me in the ass.
