My tri friend M who I have been riding with a lot recently finished 6th in a very competitive age group, and was 3rd swimmer out of the water in her wave at the Mission Bay Triathlon over the weekend.

Another friend who did the race commented: "lots of pricey and cool bikes out there without a quality rider on them. i passed people on my measly 21mph avg who were on felt DA's & cervelo p3c's with discs and 808's and aero helmets etc. i swear one guy i passed couldn't have been going more than 17 on fiesta on his specialized s-works with a disc."

I had SO wanted to do this race as my first tri, but instead was over at North Island waiting with my daughter for the USS Nimitz to come back in from a 6 mo deployment.

CRB was down yesterday afternoon for an appointment, so we met for an easy-paced 5.75 mi run in Del Mar along the beach.

Good to know. I'll probably use it for a while to get into running since all the pretty charts and graphs still motivate me.

Is M the one you did the Anaheim ride with, or the one who moved to Newportish?

M is the one that did the Anaheim-Solana Beach ride. CRB is the one that just started working in Newport Beach.

M is just the initial of my friends first name (it was easier). CRB is an acronym for "cute running buddy", who was the little vietnamese woman than I trained a lot over the past year and the one that I bought the 44 sm Trek for.

PBK (used to?) have CSC stuff on clearance. You may want to check that out.

But you girls have Team Estrogen. A lot of the times when I google for specific clothing reviews, I see links to TE (albeit the women's version, not the men's).
