I love it.
I too was surprised it lasted as long as it did! Like I said... that's what I get for venturing out of the SoCal forum!

I loved that sig too but didn't want to comment publicly so no attention would be direct to it. Well, It was a good run.

Still wet up here in the valley... but sun peaking through. Rain again tomorrow, so have to get a soggy ride in now. Oh well, was due to clean the bike anyway.

I rode in to work in a light drizzle. Nice, better than driving.
Should be clearing by early afternoon.

the rain sucks... mostly because drivers in this state are scared of a little water and automatically get into the fast lane and then drive at 50MPH...

My brother decided to start getting some exercise (something about the fast-approaching 300lb mark seemed to finally motivate him). So he bought a MTB to ride on the desert trails near his PHX home. I gave him a laundry list of accessories he would need to go along with the bike, but he said "I want to make sure I like biking, before I buy all that ****". Okay, fair enough.

He just called me, so out of breath I could barely understand him: "I'm five miles from home and I have a flat tire!"

LOL.

had to settle for the gym this morning since I didn't want to ride in the rain. My leg presses are starting to come back, max press today was 630lbs, 14 of them 45lbs plates. And single leg presses of 10 plates.
Couple of yrs ago when I raced MTBs, I used to max that machine out with 16 plates. 2 more to go

Gonna go back at lunch to run on the machine...fun..damn I hate this weather

Which gym? I use 24 hour Fitness next to the I-15 and that Infiniti dealership. I'm always worried about that leg press machine, since it's on the 2nd floor of a 2-story tilt-up building. I'm sure loading was taken into consideration, but I max at 18 plates (when I can find the damn things...hate the bench press wannabes that use a 45 lb plate and a 5 lb plate on each side. Use two 25's ya pansies...leave the big weights for the leg press)...so 18x45 = 810, + the weight of the sled...probably another 200 or so, plus the weight of me...another 200 or so...that's 1210 lbs on a small footprint.

I'm waiting to crash through the floor on some schmo on a treadmill.

They need 100 lb plates.

/no, I don't rep 18 plates. It's not my max...but it's all the sled will hold. I rep with 14, since that's all I normally care to scrounge up from the rest of the gym.

Just remind him how many calories he'll burn on the walk home!

When I lived in Phoenix, I used both Slime tubes and tire liners. (this was pre-tubeless). With cactus thorns and other spiny things all over the place, they were mandatory. I was almost tempted to go with solid rubber tires.

My fear of crashing through the floor has led me to begin using the Smith or hack squat machines instead.

I've been at the same 24 you go to for about a yr, I used to go to the one in RB by souplantation and the one in PQ when I lived in that area.

I don't know what the weight of the sled is, never factored that in. I'm making good power again, I just need to raise my muscle speeds.

Since there is a lot of talk about leg weights on here, I'll report that I "tore" mine down yesterday and I can barely walk today. I hate when that happens. But I needed it and it felt so good to load up the leg press.

Thanks, Jeff. Yes, I know it's a good thing, just painful. But I was aggressive since I didn't work out but two days last week (before I got sick). I probably should have gone a little lighter. I also did the tread climber on Max for 30 minutes. Tonight, I'm going to either just run or do the tread climber and take it a little easier with the weights! (I did upper body on Monday and I'm still sore in my biceps today!)

Jeez crap man. How much do you have on there when you're doing 8-10 reps?
