I like these types of stories and their endings:

And this may help them to catch the OC arsonist: https://www.knbc.com/news/14416035/detail.html
I certainly hope so.

Wonder why people will do that even after seeing the type/scope of damages that it can do. Are they really just out to have fun or something? I thought most of those will stop when they realize the impacts/consequences, which have been aired continuously for the last few days.

Probably won't stop till they see their families and homes destroyed!

Okay...ewwww. Even I, who gets sexully charged by just about everything, do not understand that one. No, death, destruction, hurting others (for real...not the "safe-word" type of pain-giving) is so not a turn on.

Yeah, I'm with you. I piss my kindler gentler friends off all the time with my vigilante views. But I'm from the south, and I think the cowboys sometimes get it right. If they catch the *******/***** who set those OC fires, I would not shed a tear if they "disposed" of him/her as they see fit. Of course, that won't happen and our tax dollars will go toward legal defense and housing the sicko for years to come.

ME, there are some pretty sick people in the world. It's a universal constant, regardless of where a group of people are located.

I saw a movie (based on true events) about this fire investigator who was also an arsonist. He worked for Glendale FD and was responsible for a deadly hardware store fire in South Pasadena about 20 years ago (among others).
Some folks are saying that the arsonist in SD has to be someone that has extensive knowledge of fires....scary stuff.

The major difference between this sick **** and other sickos is the scale of what his actions have caused. Most others sick deeds only affect themselves or a few more people around them. This *******s maleficence has affected hundreds of thousands of people.

There was a small brush fire set in Vista this morning. Some people saw the arsonist and led the deputies to his house. I'm surprised they didn't beat him to death.

I don't recall the female forest ranger culprit, but the Glendale guy wanted to be the "hero" too. Oh, and I remember the name of the movie, "Point of Origin" with Ray Liota (sp?).

Actually, what had happened was the female ranger got a break-up letter from her then bf. She got mad, tore up the letter, and lit the letters on fire in a campfire ring. Well, she did not extinguish the fire properly and drove off. She eventually noticed excessive smoke, went back, tried to stop the fire, but it had already gotten out of control. By then it was too late. That's where her story of being the first responder was her cover up story for her mistake.

I'm a big advocate of the punishment fitting the crime, including what some might call cruel. If you can be that cruel to others, you deserve the same cruelty towards yourself. In my opinion, a person who starts a fire that burns a house down should lose his/her house. If it kills someone, the person should be burned to death. The only crime I can think of where this wouldn't work is ****.

For me my view aren't as black and white. I'd be much more lenient if it was an accident than if it was intentional; because hey, people make mistakes.
