Welcome to the world...
Hey everyone just wanted to stop by and let everyone share in what is officially the best thing to ever happen to me...
At 6:48am on Dec. 19th I was blessed with my first child, she is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. I am on a hospital touch screen computer so no pictures til we get home but please help my wife and I welcome Kainoa Jane into our lives. I will get her on a bike but I suppose we should at least let her learn to crawl first. :p |
This thread is ...well...not really worthless...but would be definitely enhanced with cute, cuddly baby pictures!
Major congratulations. Lovely name, too! |
Congrats!!!

Congrats!!! a new little cycler!!! Awesome!!! |
I offer up this humble prayer...(and potential BF Ride/Welcoming Ceremony...if there's enough interest we'll all ride over to your house...I will organize it and have Happytime post it on the Calendar ;):D )
We begin the ride chanting... Gods of our home, gods of our hearth, gods of our bicycles today we present you with someone new. She is a member of our BF family, and this is her new home. We ask you to welcome her, we ask you to love her, we ask you to protect her, we ask you to bless her. *Have beverage of choice at the door.* Before entering the home, ( passing the water..beer...Cytomax/Koolaid whatever around the group) As each person drinks, they should say: Welcome baby, to our home. May the bikey gods love you as much we do. Once inside, have everyone hold hands, surrounding whoever is holding baby. Say: Gods of our home, gods of our hearth, gods of our bicycles today we present you with someone new. She is a member of our BF family, and this is her new home. Watch over her as she grows. Watch over her as she lives. Watch over her with love. ...and for the hundredth time "No, we are not a cult" why do people keep asking that... |
Congrats!

Without a doubt, one of the most phenominal experiences in life. Congratulations to you and your wife Jaye.
|
That's fantastic! I wish her a wonderful, healthy life. :)

Conratulations. I'll advise that you spend as much time with her as possible doing things together. They grow very quickly, and pretty soon, she'll be a teenager, and teenagers do not find it cool to spend time hanging out with their dads. This has been my experience. Sometimes, I have to bribe my 15-Year old to let me take him out to lunch or dinner! Just Imagine having to bribe somebody to let you spend your time and money on them!
So, enjoy her company, and revel in it before she decides her friends are much more cool to hang out with than her parents! Regards, |
Congratulations to you and your wife. Soon you will be thinking about a bike seat or a trailer filled with toys, food and juice as you pedal away on a bike path along the ocean. Enjoy!!

Thank you all so much for the well wishes. It is amazing how something so small can immediately trump everything else in the world. She is not even 48 hours old yet and already is ruling my world. It is by far the most amazing thing I have ever experienced.
To answer the question about pronunciation it is Kainoa; Kai sounds like the first part of Kayak or the last part of malikai....Noa sounds like Noah, as in built an ark. Together you get Kainoa, which is Hawaiian and loosely translates to "person of water" or "ocean god/goddess" depending on who you talk to. Here are a couple of pictures to tide you over til we can get some proper ones, one of baby with mommy and one of baby with daddy. Sorry for the quality they are camera phone pics... |
