So, for some strange reason, as miserable as I was during the Stagecoach I'm thinking about doing it again. Anyone else?

Is that the one in Ocatillo? Just curious, why were you miserable? I was thinking about possibly, maybe, kinda considering it.

Too far to drive for a third year in a row for me. It can take up to 7 hours to get down there. But I do like the route and I don't know that it will be that cold in 2008. In 2005 it was quite warm actually.

It's not that it's too far, it's that it's south of Orange County. ME's psychic told her never to drive that far south ever again.

I did it last year with a friend who suffered hypothermia and had to be evacuated back to Ocotillo. I hope to be able to do a century ride again in January but definitely it will not be this one. Too far, too cold.

I am thinking about it. The dilemma is that you have to register by 11/17 for the cost to be reasonable, but there is obviously no way to predict the weather two months ahead. I would not want to do it again if it's anywhere close to as cold as last year.

I'll most likely do this ride since I've purchased a few winter clothing since then.

My psychic does not guide me on such things. She only guides me in matters of love, and I can tell you, I ought to fire that ***** and spend my money on bar tabs, cause so far, she's been woefully incorrect.

I am passing on the January event but will probably do the April Stagecoach Century. Hopefully it will not be too cold or too hot.

"After you cross Hwy 78 at the north end of the course you will have a gradual 5 mile climb up about 600 feet to the turn-around point at mile 50.0."
This makes it sound like they extended the route so no more loop required!

As much as everyone talked so highly about it last year, I'm afraid I have to take a pass.

Going back out into the wind for the second loop two years ago was just plain miserable.
The only good thing I got out of this year was the ability to know what REALLY being cold for a long period of time is. Whenever I now think I'm getting cold I just think back to that ride.

I used to ride in the winter in Canada and I still think last years Stagecoach was the coldest ride I have ever participated in. I guess maybe my blood has thinned over the years

I just registered. This is what happens when I can't ride and get bored. Why?
1. It couldn't possibly be that cold again.
2. I like this year's jersey.
3. The course is supposedly better (no midpoint loops).
4. It couldn't possibly be that cold again.
BTW, today is the last day for "early bird" rates on registration.
