Camera Ride, Sat. 3/8
I would be doing the PHO RIDE tomorrow if I hadn't committed myself earlier to doing the CAMERA RIDE.
This is a social ride involving lots of picture taking and a couple of stops for food and desert, centering around areas just north of downtown LA. We meet at Union Station at noon. This ride is organized by members of Roadbikereview.com. A couple of BF'ers, besides myself, are participating.
You must bring a camera, film or digital, pro or consumer, working or not, doesn't matter. This is a camera ride.
Oh, and we're having mochi ice cream in Little Tokyo too.
Anyone with a camera is welcomed to join.

Sadly, I can't ride this. Nor, ME, can I ride the pho ride. My family, it seems, has other plans what with it being my birthday and all.

This sounds like a great ride, roadfix. I love picture taking rides! (not getting mine taken so much...)
I'm going to be out really late tonight, but if I have any energy tomorrow I might join you...

I think we're stopping for some shrimp cocktail at La Serenata. That's pretty close to your hood, no? Join us if you can.

Slight change of plan according to the people from RBR. Instead of a sit down meal, we'll be 'hummingbirding' throughout the ride.

We had some fun times yesterday. When I'm not doing RAAM, quadruple centuries, and brevets, I sometimes love to do these artsy rides where you spend more time off the bike than on the bike. Seriously, I love these kind of rides.
There were 8 of us with bikes and camera equipment, several nice vintage film equipment too. Grrlyrida and Hollywould from Bikeforums were part of the group too.
We met at Union Station at noon and strolled parts of downtown and had lunch at Lost Souls in downtown. Then we headed to the Bradbury Building, then to Our Lady of Angels Cathedral, and then over to Angelino Heights. I had to get home so I branched off after shooting some pictures in Angelino Heights. And since Grrlyrida lives in Silverlake, she did the same. The rest of the group headed back towards downtown to continue on with the remainder of the tour.
I took a bunch of pictures and here are just a few:
grrlyrida. photographer/cyclist
Hollywould. phtographer/cyclist
Cycle-photographers meet at Union Station
Lunch at Lost Souls. downtown
Poser's bike. Angelino Heights

Oh rats! That looks like it was a lot of fun! Too bad I couldn't make it. Who had the xtracycle?
Here are some pictures from the ride that kept me out too late to join you the next day. It was a very "smart" ride...about 100 riders.
That is me in picture number three. I'm the top woman in screaming yellow. Extra bonus points for anyone who can tell me who is standing next to me...(the other woman in yellow) In fact, I will buy the winner a scoop at Scoops...

Yep, you missed a fun ride. That's Jeff's (Hollywould) xtracycle.
I have no idea who that woman is in your photo.

I believe they're part of the period prop they plant for that neighborhood with all the Victorian homes. They kept circling around the block, holding hands and skipping too. I have several other shots of them next to my bike. Either that or they really dug me so they kept coming back.

What type of ride is this? It looks fun. I didn't hear about this one. Is it some secret ride?

Those are great pix George. I didn't know you took one of me trying to take a pix with my digibrick. I'll post mine as soon as I sign up for photobucket.
