Couple of notes and murphys law
If you bring children to the race please have control of them. Hyperactive eight year olds running back and forth across the field is not a good thing.
If you have "professional" glue your tubular tires, before the race check that they are actually glued...
Murphys law: If you survive a somewhat sketchy field, you can get almost taken out by some idiot not stopping for stop sign on your cool down ride.
That is all.

were you in the 4's? lots of knuckleheads out there today. i got squeezed between two of them during the sprint on a street that was 40' wide. how the F@#K does that happen!?
i'll be surprised if anyone outside of the top 12 isn't listed as DNF due to the lack of video at the finish. what exactly was the deal with that, anyway? was there an equipment issue or was there just no camera? i finished 14th(crossed the line with vireo and wattsup), but i probably won't be credited with it. the 14th place was bad enough, but not getting credit for a top20 is BS. i'm having flashbacks of the LA circuit race already.

Getting squeezed might be the fact that the officiating stand encroached on the street and people thought they needed to crowd each other on the sprint. But from my little experience at crits and finish lines yesterday's setup seemed typical.
Murphy got me---I punctured my rear tubular in the 35+ race. The irony was the culprit was a SAFETY pin.

they must have just blown it on the 4's finish, because they were asking anyone who "thought" they finished in the top 10 to report to them. i didn't bother. i just don't have the mental energy to protest or contest any more finishes. that will have been the 4th time this year for me, so i just said screw it.

Amazing, there were no crashes in any collegiate races in the morning. I was surprised to hear there were lots of crashes in the 4's and 5's especially considering how smooth the turns were.

i wouldn't say the turn at the bottom of the hill was smooth. it wasn't terrible, but it was far from smooth. and once you get over a certain speed going over that rain gutter, the bike can become pretty unsettled if you aren't totally relaxed. i'm willing to bet that's what caused the big crash. someone got a little crooked and someone else probably overreacted, etc., etc., etc. i'm still not sure how i got through that one without losing any momentum.

Yeah, the pavement was a little rough there. I was referring more to the flow of the corners. Maybe I'm just getting spoiled doing A's, I can count on one hand the number of times I had to brake in that turn.
I can see how somebody could get a little freaked out by rear wheel chatter caused by the gutter.
