Forum rules regarding mentioning other forums

I'm asking what the rules are regarding mentioning and not mentioning other forums here. Thanks in advance.

Call it the other site. Unless, of course, you're talking about the OTHER site. Or the other site.

Indolent58 04-08-08 04:13 PM

Do you mean bikejournal.com or RBR?

I think he means the ABC123 forum

umd 04-08-08 04:43 PM

There are other forums?

prendrefeu 04-08-08 04:46 PM

I usually just refer to it as the AA Group ride.

Yes, there is an A Group, a B Group, and C Group.

I prefer to call it the dark side, but I like it on the dark side.

Any mention of a commercial site that happens to have gotten nearly all of its membership through this site will be deleted without notice.

Can you define "commercial?" That would help everyone understand.

Certainly. Go look up Adsense.

Gotcha, so if it's got Google ads on, it counts?

Thanks for the clarification.

umd 04-08-08 06:21 PM

I'm really confused

Please don't push things any further. Thank you.

Scootcore 04-08-08 06:22 PM

No. I believe that was merely a request. A threat would be to just lock SoCal.

Well. Let me mention this site:

http://www.socaltrailriders.org

It's awesome. It's got better features than Bike Forums. Mainly mountain bikers go there. People call it STR for short. I'm doing a ride with people from there tonight in Los Penasquitos Canyon. We do it every week almost.

Join us, 7:30PM, Canyonside Recreation Center off Black Mountain Road!
http://www.socaltrailriders.org/foru...ss-7-30pm.html

I've mentioned bikeforums.net on STR in the past. So have many other people. So surely bikeforums can't have a problem with this, can they?

I really have no idea which site you are alluding to. There are lots of other sites that get mentioned casually in posts. Links to rides motionbased, journals at bikejournal, routes at bikely, people saying that bought stuff at <insert web retailer of your choice>, weights from weight weenies, etc. How are we supposed to know which is the one magical commercial site we aren't allowed to talk about?

Why? They have a problem with people mentioning other sites on their forums. Tit for tat, I say.
