there's crago racing in van nuys. they do good work, although the owner has a little attitude that you have to get used to.
i like motorcycle performance services on la brea near pico. i've known the owner alex since the early nineties, he's a great guy and brutally honest. he really knows his stuff and understands what you need and won't try to give you what you don't need.

Another vote for Crago. A little attitude if you're not a racer, but they definitely know their stuff. They did a phenomenal job on my forks (new springs, fluid, preload adjustment).
