Amgen Tour 2009 Finishes in Escondido/RB

From CyclingNews, the 2009 Amgen Tour of California will finish in San Diego -Escondido/RB to be exact. How cool is that? Details of the route don't appear yet on the Amgen website but hopefully it'll be something hilly and not flat stage.

I'm guessing (hoping) they'll do the Henshaw loop.

I've been told Amgen was working with the US Navy to have the Team Crit stage launch from the carrier Midway, off the deck and onto the route. We will soon see, however, this info suggests this may be true.

The website shows that the final stage will start in Esco and finish in RB. Not sure how the Midway will be moved to that location for start point.

Ahhh... Maybe in 2010 ! I am glad to see the TOC mixing it up as it will make each year fresh and exciting while showing the world what California has to offer.

And we still get our Santa Clarita -Pasadena stage. Very cool to have a Pro stage race go through your backyard.

I'm definitely going to have to watch the Pasadena stage and then drive up to Solvang to watch the time trial, and maybe do some riding on my own.
