Welcome, Kyle! North County is big. Where abouts? And nice bike. That was my first bike back in '85-'86. Wish I still had it.

Welcome aboard. I like to bike too. :)
Come on out for a Saturday ride at SDBC.

Check out cyclovets, sdbc, and a host of other groups for organized rides. You can almost always find a wheel to grab onto near Fiesta Island, and any ride up PCH is a blast. Enjoy.

SDBC yikes....Ok they have 4 or 5 different paces/skill level rides....just be prepared for all the racers/used to be racers/wanna be racer types

I'm 20 (21 in a few weeks). If you're ever going to be down in the La Mesa area let me know. Maybe my roommate and I can meet up with you somewhere.

I'm in the age group but down south more. (normal heights). If you ever find your way south I'm up for a ride. The only time i head up north is riding to la jolla (not to far north) for the sdbc group b ride up the coast.

Sign up at sdfixed.com. There's a ride on Tuesdays at 7pm starting at the Oceanside Pier. There's also a Monday ride at 6:30 that meets up at the little grass area next to Offshore Surf in Carlsbad.

Oi Kyle I am a North County Rider. I typicaly start the sprinter in Escondido and head out through San Marcos, Vista then head down to Palomar Airport Road and into Carlsbad then head back up Palomar Airport Rd into San Marcos and back to the start.
I am not much of a Hill climber yet but I do like to ride. Maybe we could meet up and hit a ride in the next couple of weeks. I want to do Del Dios but the ppl I usually ride with aren't comfortable with that road. here is a link if you are interested of the proposed ride that I want to do at some point.

Sorry about previous link it was late mind wasn't functioning

The San Diego Bike Club rides leave just outside the UCSD campus. You may want to check them out when you get into town.

Good luck with the move.

Oi...Im just lookin to get a some easy rides it...just started cycling...dont think i could make that run quite yet...

DaveSANYYZ 09-08-08 04:12 PM

I started with the SDBC group. Rode with their D5 group (10 miles around the Mormon church area), then to the D4 (~28 miles including a climb up Torrey Pines). They helped me gain the skills & courage to ride on the road on my own. It may be a little far for you though.

Mission Bay, Silver Strand to name a couple. There's also a nice path along the 56, but it's not a flat ride, there are some small hills/inclines and descends form Penasquitoes to Carmel Valley but I see all types of riders there.
