If you meant SART,
Absolutely, the later in the afternoon the stronger it gets.
If you're heading towards the beach you get the headwind, but the tailwind is awesome for the ride home.

Talked with Beanz today on the SART. He's having troubles getting to Bike Forums from his old computer. Hopefully the troubles get resolved soon.

All three river trails (SART, SGRT, and LART) are subject to some fierce offshore breezes in the afternoon. SART is the trail where you'll feel the Santa Ana winds the most, especially if you're headed upriver; the Santa Anas, if they blow hard enough to reach SGRT or LART, are more likely to be crosswinds on those two trails.

Beanz and I waved at each other today, and he chastised me for passing Gina in mileage on BJ.

Hey, IM, was that you with Beanz when I was stopped to take pictures of flowers today?

Yup, that was IM with me Condorita Chick!...I'm copied yesterdays post of my ride with justMe up GMR on Saturday. Posting from Pop's house so getting these pics up while I can.

Nice ride with the cool JustMe. Not too hot and just about right for a nice GMR ride. Started at Encanto then up 39 to EF. Lil GMR to GRR then towards the village. Never made it cause JustMe flatted on a sharp rock. While making the repair, JimmyNH happened to ride by. He stopped for a few minutes, took my pic then jammed on his way. Ahhh, the always classy Jimmy!

The flat was cool as we had already climbed 30 miles up. I'm sure we have easily made the village no sweat, that was my concern on this ride. JustMe made the repair but immediately after I realized he had developed a good size bulge. He suggested we continue to the village but I'm just not comfortable riding next to a guy with a bulge of that size!

SO we headed back gently down Big GMR across Sierra Momma to Encanto. Nice ride with a nice guy and a Jimmy sighting! Nice bike JimmyNH

Drafting JustMe up 39

Sneaky me, making JustMe do all the work up 39

JustMe

JustMe racing the young dudes up Lil GMR

JustMe looking cool!

Minutes before the bulge appeared!

Evercool Jimmy!

New rule, whoever uses my pump buys me a soda! Thanx JustMe!

Picture taken by JimmyNH Photography Studios!

Where's Beanz????

Hey Alex,
when you gonna get that kid a real bike?
you afraid he'll leave you in the dust?

BTW, IMHO looking at this photo his seat is too low and he's compensating by pedaling with the wrong part of his foot. Just an observation, I could be wrong, but not usually....

Hey Mavrick,
you're a lucky kid if your old man gives you his bike, I've seen it and it's pretty nice!!
Just make sure you get that seat height right.

Hey Beanz, where you at?

BTW, I did see EvilEuro on the way to the coast Sunday. I'd like to apologize for being rude. He asked a question about my computer problems and I just ran on by. We had been kickin' arse down to the coast, I was feeling strong and the blood was flowing so I just kept it going. I can be rude at times when it comes to a good workout!

Day after GMR ride trying to get rid of the funky farmer tan.

Gina putting on the shoes knowing she's about to kick my arse the day after GMR

BF'er Zoom, One of the River Velo Boyz!

Tammy got a new ride!

Gina and I...Sunday

Wednesday Morn, the 20th. Out of bed and up to the Baldy Tunnels. I wasn't happy, need more sleep but must climb. Maybe 2000 ft in 8 miles. 10 hour nightshifts suck. Wake up, ten minutes then on the bike. Sucks but someone's gotta do it!..Nobody up there so had to take my own picture!

Time to break out the ol CAAD3 for 20 miles

Cause I've done GMR for the last 7 weeks in a row. 5000-6000 ft of climbing on the weekends, anywhere from 40 to 60 miles. I plan to do it again this Saturday from Encanto Park. I work 10 hour shifts at night, ride stright out of bed then, then make it home in time to eat my lunch, rest for a bit then head back to work. The section to Baldy village on Baldy Rd would take too long with my schedule.

Besides, too much climbing is not smart training for Ride around the Bear in June. If I do a second ride during the week, it's to Day Creek, a gentle ez ride. Are you signed up for the Bear too?

Not to pick nits...but that would be ONshore breezes in the afternoon. Otherwise I might have ended up a surfer rather than a bike rider!

My friends will be out there tomorrow (Saturday) morning, leaving from the water fountain at 8 am, but I don't know of anyone's plans for Monday.

Thanks, some of my friends and I will go down to OC anyway. The weather report looks like it should be a good day.

It was a good day today on the SART. Sadly, I had to cut my ride a lil short due to quad strain on both my legs riding back from the beach. Gah.
