Any Good Loops In Escondido?

Greetings,
Any good or favorite loops in Escondido? I ask cuz I usually just hit Center City Pkwy, and head north out of town. Maybe there's some good roads to loop on to add some miles. East Mission doesn't look good. No thanks to E Valley Pkwy. I guess I'm thinking something like Bear Valley Pkwy would be good. The pavement and traffic going south on Center City is bad?

Much thanks.

I never go through the city. A good loop is Valley Pkwy-Del Dios Hwy- Camino Del Norte-Rancho Santa Fe Rd- San Elijo Rd.- Elfin Forest.

Rolling, good scenery, and very few lights. Plus they just started repaving Elfin Forest Rd.

You still checking in here? North from Center City will take you to Jesmond Dene, and from there you can go down through North Escondido on Ash to El Norte Parkway, to Citrus then on into the San Pasqual Valley...there's some mild climbing on Mary Lane and Summit. Bear Valley is okay, Via Rancho Parkway to Felicita North will take you back to Center City Parkway.

How long of a loop are you looking for? What type of riding? Fast or climbing?

However, if I lived on North Center City, I would definitely just go North out of town. You've got all those climbs up to Valley Center (Circle R, Old Castle), or you could head West. Great, nearly traffic-free riding.

Otherwise, check this link:

These are all the routes that the North County Cycle Club use. They start from Old Restaurant Row in San Marcos, but I'd say that the majority of them pass by where you would normally start. The routes are well-planned and touch all of the best roads for North County riding.
