My Solo GMR Ride and Strange Weather

Well I guess it was strange everywhere. I was up on GMR and thought it wa only up there since we all know how fast conditions can change up thar! I started from the dirt lot just above BoulderSprings. It looked a bit cool but I figured it would warm up. It was quiet on GMR. Not a single car or motorcycle the first few miles. Then I saw Gem (RiverVelo Buddy) descending at about mile 4. The weatehr still cool but looking like it was about to warm up. Then I get near the shack and I see PinoyBentrider Ron on his roadie. Shouted "hey" then I turned around to take his pic but he kept going. A bit camera shy today, I guess.

Still cool but on the warm side all the way to the village. I stopped at the post office only to refill my bottles. A short 4 minute break and I was back on the road . Heading up the short climb back up to GMR, it started to rain on me! Where the heck did that come from. Luckily it only rained for about 2 minutes.

Cleared up but still cool. Then as I approach the shack, it's froggy! What the heck! I ride by the shack and as soon as I pass, it starts raining again. I'm jacked now, I'm thinking but again, it stops raining like 2 minuts later.

So I reach the gate at the botom of GMR and I'm still feeling pretty good. I decided to head back up to the shack a second time hoping that it cleared. Nope, didn't clear at all, but I added a couple thou climbing to my ride.

I tested myself to see how long I could ride without a big break. I did ok. 58 miles with 7200 ft and only 4 minutes off the bike!

Nice thing was seeing only 4 cars and 2 motorcycles all day!

Leaving the village. Seconds after the pic, it started raining.

Getting close to the shack a second time hoping for a lil sun, nope, still froggy!

Seconds after completing the 7200 ft... Some say the more I climb, the more I look like Elvis!...An old fat Elvis but hey, Elvis was cool!Hehehe!

Damn, Beanz. Are you using a 53/39 crank? What a stud.

Indolent and I rode through Camp Pendleton. It didn't rain but it drizzled enough to soak us and make me wash my bike.

Yup, and a 12-25 cogset. ...Same one I used on BA and The Bear last 3 times I rode it!

My weight has dropped from 249 (November) to 228 this morning (weight hasn't been this low in 5 years). So using the double is much easier and now Gina thinks I'm a stud too!

I was 223 after the ride!...But that will change after dinner!

Sorry Beanz, I was running a little late for my dr.'s appt., in fact, I came 10 minutes late. Maybe next time for the pictures. Been up GMR yesterday and today all on my single speed, not too much motorcycle traffic. Must be the weather.

I rode up there yesterday (Saturday). Vehicle traffic was very low, and it was surprisingly cold up top.

That's pretty impressive Mr. Beanz! But can you beat this?

That bugger drafted me all the way down the hill.
