Figueroa Mountain Loop (east side ascent)

Ok, so this is one of the best climbs I have ever done. Incredibly scenic with good, solid climbing. Full ride report is here:

Figueroa Mountain Loop (east side ascent)

Who else has done this ride and what did you think of it?

I've done it from both sides, it's a great ride. Nice report with pictures. I think it is tougher from the west side, but ways are good climbs.

You could be like the Huell Howser of the cycling community. But instead of those silly interviews, you could do an entire video cam of the ride with riders and commentary along the way.

I did it yesterday actually from the west/Los Olivos, but I've done it many times from both directions. I prefer it from the east/Happy Canyon side like you did it, mostly because it puts the gravel on the ascent rather than descent, and generally the descent toward Los Olivos is preferable to the descent toward Happy Canyon. For extra bonus points start from santa Barbara...

Great ride report and pics. I was thinking about doing this over the 4th of July holiday. I was gonna start from my mom's house in Vandenberg Village. The scenery reminds me of my drum canyon/agnus hill loop through Los Alamos/Mission Hills.
